Song of my Heart

This is a little different from my usual post, if I have a usual style. This is actually a song. I have actually loved creating songs since I was in junior high. Sadly, I have no musical talent, nor a singing voice, so it never went anywhere...though I will say that my shower is most appreciative of my skills. Anyway, I normally fixate on a song for a few hours, but it rarely goes past that point. For some reason I have had this one verse stuck in my head for the last few months. "Like a deer in the headlights, I was captured by your love". What comes after that varies regularly, but I decided to try and formulate something for it. I had always known that the "you" was God, but I had no idea of the meaning until this evening. The song and verses I was led to describe my journey towards Christ. The story is mine, and probably a lot of yours. We are peacefully ignorant of God's presence in our life, until He does something we can't ignore. Then we are so incredibly amazed at His power, that we can't imagine ever straying. Eventually we get dulled by the world and the devil again gains a hold of our life. God's love is persistent and never-ending though, and He is always willing to go the extra mile to win our love back. I know my singing stinks...it has most flatteringly been compared to a dying cat. To that end, feel free to ignore the audio, if I can even figure out how to attatch it. If nothing else, it probably makes a decent poem, if you're not hooked on rhyming. Creative my singing is not.
